Coworking Space Hosts First Speed Networking Social

Luxury coworking space, Co-Optim, is expanding its Speed Networking Social series, Quick Connect, from its Deer Park location to the West Loop.

Deer Park, IL - Co-Optim, the only luxury coworking space in Illinois, hosted its first Speed Networking Social, Quick Connect, at the brand’s flagship location in Deer Park on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Based upon the resounding success of this event, Co-Optim is pleased to announce Co-Optim, West Loop as the next location for the Spring 2018 Quick Connect social.

Networking is one of the many benefits of coworking, but it can also be a bit daunting for professionals to put themselves “out there”. Co-Optim was inspired to change the stigma and to help facilitate more connections for its members and the Chicagoland business community.

The February Quick Connect helped a diverse group of medical and business professionals, freelancers, coaches, and creatives, to connect with over 50 professional contacts through quick, four-minute intervals. Guests were assigned to one of two groups: one group had assigned tables for the one-on-one networking conversations, while the other group moved, after four-minute intervals, from table to table. The tables were arranged throughout Co-Optim’s custom-designed coworking space including Co-Bar, the Salon (with guitar-pick tables), and designer lounge, the Sol Room. A different networking dynamic was created; providing a unique and fast way to expand their network by pitching ideas and resources to other business professionals from all types of backgrounds. At the conclusion of the Speed Rounds, participants socialized and enjoyed refreshments.

“Quick Connect shakes up what people think of as ‘traditional’ networking to make it an exciting experience,” Alicia Hutzler, Co-Optim Director of Marketing, said. “We’re thrilled to bring the opportunity for this event to our West Loop location.”

“Quick Connect is a purposeful opportunity to meet other like-minded business owners,” Michelle Smalenberger, Co-Founder and Financial Designer of Financial Design Studio and Co-Optim member said. “I appreciated the opportunity to talk quickly about how we can help each other, but also to meet a large number of people in one evening! Quick Connect was a really fun and productive networking experience - it’s worth your time to try!”

Coworking Meets Luxury in the West Loop

I don’t know about you, but often times my environment dictates my productivity. When I try to power through work at home I find myself taking breaks to do laundry or grab a snack from the fridge, wander to bed and need a nap, or the dreaded “I can get this done while watching The Real Housewives.” And while I’ve looked into coworking spaces to get my blogging done none ever fit my needs. They felt too informal, had kitchens I could wander in to for beer and coffee and get distracted talking to ...  Read More...
